Turn Signal Conversion Module Turn Signal to Brake Light Conversion
The Turn Signal Conversion Module causes your rear turn signal lights to function as turn signals plus additional brake and / or running lights.
When brakes are applied your turn signals will illuminate as additional brake lights. If a turn signal is applied, it will have priority over the brake light function on the side that is selected until the turn signal is canceled. Additionally, the rear light can function as running / marker lights when there is no turn signal or brake light (illuminates at 50% brightness)
If you convert turn signals into brake lights, you will need to change the bulb / lens to red: or replace the turn signal light with a red light.
Requirements / Features
Brake Lights – If you wish to have the rear turn signal lights function as additional brake lights you can connect your vehicles brake switch or brake light wire to the brake input on the Turn Signal Conversion Module. This will cause your rear turn signals to come on at 100% brightness when the brakes are applied, and there is not a turn signal.
Running Lights – The Turn Signal Conversion module comes pre-programmed not to have running lights (lights illuminated at 50% brightness any time the module has power). If you wish to have running lights, you can turn them on or off any time by doing the following. To change running light modes: power off the module, then power on and press the brake switch the specified number of times “see the list below” within 5 seconds. This will switch the running light mode and will remain there even when powered off and back on.
Running Lights – 4 Brake Presses No Running Lights – 12 Brake Presses
Wiring Instructions
Orange Wire – Connect to a key switch controlled 12V+ fused power supply (On a motorcycle the tail light or license plate light is a good place to connect)
Black Wire – Connect to a Ground wire (Frame ground not recommended)
Red Wire –This is an input wire connect to brake switch or brake light wire (this wire needs12V+ when brakes are applied, and no voltage when brakes are not applied)
Violet Wire –This is an input wire. Cut the left positive turn signal wire in two and connect to the cut end leading to the front of the vehicle.
Brown Wire – This is an input wire. Cut the right positive turn signal wire in two and connect to the cut end leading to the front of the vehicle.
White / Violet Wire – Provides 12V+ power to the rear left turn signal light. Connect to the end of the wire you cut leading to the rear of the vehicle.
White / Brown Wire – Provides 12V+ power to the rear right turn signal light. Connect to the end of the wire you cut leading to the rear of the vehicle.
Note: Before installation be certain that all lights and switches are functioning properly.
Load Equalizer – After installing the Turn Signal Conversion Module test the turn signals are flashing correctly. If they are flashing too fast or not at all; you will need to install the load equalizer (included). To install the load equalizer simply match the colors of the wires on the load equalizer to the colors on the Turn Signal Conversion Module and connect at the same point.
Double sided tape is provided to mount the modules, or they may be zip tied to the vehicles frame or a wire bundle.
